Deposition From The Flesh
Artwork Titles:Deposition from the Flesh
Medium: Woodcut Print
Size: 70x100 cm
This piece was created during my art residency in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with the help of Praween Piangchompu, Model Saharat, @3ry.it.all.
"Hautea's print is an exploration of different religions and the concept of levels of consciousness intertwined with the idea of burial rites. The artwork delves into the transient nature of life, emphasising the inevitable return to the earth for all beings and universal truths no matter what one's religious affiliation. The artwork invites contemplation on the ephemeral nature of our consciousness, encompassing our lives, dreams, achievements, and the profound connections we hold dear. By invoking a sense of introspection, the artwork encourages viewers to appreciate the transient beauty of existence and the importance of finding equilibrium in the face of life's complexities."
